Immersion in the artistic gesture

Sensibilis is an immersion of the artistic process in spaces and establishments of « early childhood » and all types of places of life (PMI, pediatric practice, hospitals, retirement homes, specialised centres etc.). The proposed artistic research residencies rely on a network of actors from the art, research, education, scientific and philosophical sectors

The closing event takes place around the Chateau of Cagnes-sur-Mer, with various proposals for the public and children from infancy.

SENSIBILIS 2023 was…

During one week, from June 4th to June 9th, artist residencies were held at the heart of early childhood structures. Artistic connections were made between everyday living spaces and these facilities.

On Saturday, June 10th, all these experiences came to a close.

The closing day on Saturday, June 10, took place around the Château Grimaldi in Cagnes-sur-Mer. The theme for this year was:

« What is the role of art when conflicts and political or cultural constraints come into play? »

Throughout the week and during the closing day, artists from both the national and international territories were present to address this question.

A sensitive and artistic journey was organized for our audience, starting from the very young age, where original creations, workshops, and tours were offered!

At the end of the day, a festive closing event and a roundtable discussion involving various participants from Sensibilis, including artists, researchers, and early childhood structures’ team, are organized to share and document the lived experiences.

  • Similarly, 4 teams of early childhood professionals accompanied the resident artists.

  •

    Two observer-researchers documented the experiences:

  •

Vincent Lambert, a teacher-researcher in information and communication sciences specializing in cultural studies, artistic production, and the dissemination of knowledge at the University Côte d’Azur. He is actively involved as a cultural mediator in several museums and monuments on the Côte d’Azur and also works as a scenic artist in various genres, repertoires, and classical or popular creations, such as commedia dell’arte, lyrical singing, documentary and socially engaged theater, literary and historical valorization. He is increasingly moving towards research-creation approaches.

  •

Diana-Adriana Lefter is a professor of French literature at the University of Pitesti (Romania) and director of the doctoral school Philology at the same university. She is the author of numerous articles on the works of Gide, particularly on the explicit and implicit presence of myths, corporeality, and Gide’s theater, as well as on dramaturgy in general and French literature of the Enlightenment. For the past decade, she has taken a particular interest in the study of dramatic texts and dramatic theories, which she teaches to students in foreign languages as well as those in performing arts.

  • Over 200 people were present during these artistic events!

All the team members and collaborators of Be Company are extremely grateful for your interest and involvement during Sensibilis 2023!

You cannot imagine the joy we all feel after putting in so much hard work on the field, encountering various obstacles and adversities…

Looking forward to seeing you again soon on other projects or at Sensibilis 2024!
